The most striking feature of this house is a high-ceilinged great room which looks out onto a wonderful view. Except that the room was dark and closed-feeling, and you could not see the view unless you went over to the windows. I opened the room to the kitchen and to the back, and replaced the windows with floor-to-ceiling French doors, using elliptical over-windows.

This room is decorated and furnished in a contemporary style, but it could easily be done in a traditional style.
