This is a little Web site devoted to design and specifically to my interior design and remodeling design. I learned about design through years of study and many years of actual practice, including designing major renovations of homes and offices, as well as a restaurant.

I live and work in the community of Lake Barcroft in Fairfax County, south of Falls Church and just outside of Washington, DC, and I have done projects all over the Washington area (as well as in California when I lived there for a few years).

I have designed in many styles -- authentic American Colonial, classic French, traditional, various ethnic styles, and contemporary. I work to reflect my client's taste and the demands of the setting and intended function.

I do not have a store and do not sell furnishings, but I can obtain all kinds of specialty items through designer wholesale channels. Every client needs to get the maximum for whatever money is spent on the project and I always keep cost in mind. I can bill in various ways to suit the project and client needs, but a rough rule is that my services generally come to about 15% of project costs. In many cases, however, I can show how to save enough to repay my fee and more, without affecting quality.

I will work with your contractor or craftspeople, or can help you find reliable people to do the work well at the lowest cost. On jobs where there are complex technical issues I work with architects, structural engineers, or other specialists.
